The tending needed to dream

If you find yourself lacking vision for your life, it might be because you haven’t tended to the right things.

It’s understandable.

It’s natural to get caught up going through the motions without truly being present and truly bringing intention to your work and life.

I am happy to guide you through the two spaces you need to tend that will help you expand your gaze and begin to have vision again.

Your internal world

You need to tend to your internal world.

  1. There may be ways you limit yourself because of beliefs you hold.

Beliefs that were formed early in your life.

Beliefs that have gone unexamined and aren’t actually serving you.

And if you were to inspect those beliefs, you might realize that they are keeping you from being fully alive, fully present, and they are keeping you from stepping into an abundant life that awaits.

  2. You might have stopped listening to your desires.

This happens when we’re told our desires are bad, or that we shouldn’t want the things we want.

Or for some reason your desires haven’t been realized and so you stopped desiring in order to avoid pain.

But if you were to tune in and begin to listen for your desires, they are there, waiting to emerge and point you toward something.

  3. Maybe you haven’t learned how to let your energy guide you.

You have things that energize you and things that drain you of energy.

But if you’re used to white-knuckling your way through tough problems and relying on grit, you might be missing the finer signals of paying attention to your energy as a way to work in your zone of genius and conserve energy.

  4. You might be missing out on living life and making decisions around your core values.

Think about the 3 things that matter most to you at this phase of life.

Those are your values, and they should guide every decision you make.

Your external world

You also need to tend to your environment, or your external world.

  1. You create your environment, and your environment creates you.

There are two types of environments that you can shape: the one where you work, create, and produce, and the environment where you rest and recover.

When you intentionally create each of these environments, they in turn, create you.

  2. The people you surround yourself with matter.

People can inspire you, encourage you, see the gifts in you.

They can also be threatened by you and not want to see you succeed.

Be selective with the people you choose to keep company with.

  3. What are your commitments?

What are all the things you have said “yes” to?

Are you fully in on them, or do you secretly wish you were a “no” to some of these?

Take an inventory of your commitments and make this part of tending to your external world.

When you tend to your internal and external world, you create space for new vision to emerge.

What insight do you have as you consider what areas need tending?

Love,

Audrey
