Invisible choices

The conversations I have with people are almost entirely around increasing their capacity to come from a place of choice.

People come to me when they have a decision to make about their careers.

They want the next level of leadership.

They want to more effectively bring their gifts to the world.

They want to feel a sense of purpose and passion in what they do.

And what I show them is that the next level of leadership or career growth is not about how you apply to that new job, or how you impress the new boss, or how you impress the board of directors.

It’s about how you come from a place of choice in every moment

Most of these choices are invisible.

What I do is help you see what you cannot see for yourself.

That you always have a choice about how you show up.

Invisible choices you face in any given moment include:

1. Choices About Self-Authority & Personal Power

  • Do you seek permission or step into self-agency?

  • Do you give away your power or step into it?

  • Do you have your own definition of success?

  • Do you create your future or live a default life?

2. Choices About Emotional Energy & Inner Life

  • Do you honor and respect your own needs?

  • How honest are you with yourself?

  • Do you ask for help when you need it?

  • What emotions do you bear for others?

3. Choices About Communication & Expression

  • Do you have a POV and do you share it?

  • Do you shrink or do you take up space?

  • Do you see feedback as a threat or a gift?

4. Choices About Alignment & Integrity

  • What are you tolerating?

  • Do you prioritize the urgent over the important?

  • Do your values define your work and your decisions?

5. Choices About Pace and Presence

  • What pace is your nervous system calibrated to maintain?

  • Do you spend most of your thoughts in the past, future, or grounding in the present moment?

6. Choices About Boundaries & Protection

  • Do you say “yes” when you mean “no?”

  • How do you protect your time, energy, and attention?

7. Choices About Identity & Self-Perception

  • Do you fight for your dreams or fight for your limitations?

  • Do you use your fear to point you toward your desires?

8. Choices About Relationships & Connection

  • Do you engage in conflict or avoid it?

  • Are you proactive in building relationships and growing your network?

9. Choices About Attention & Conscious Awareness

  • How often do you notice signals your body gives you?

  • Do you focus on the problem or look for solutions?

  • Can you move your attention in or out depending on the situation?

10. Choices About Learning & Growth

  • What role does curiosity play when you face a difficult situation?

  • What is your relationship with discomfort?

  • What is your relationship with experimenting?

11. Choices About Meaning & Interpretation

  • What story are you telling yourself about events in your life?

  • How do you handle obstacles and adversity?

12. Choices About Vision & Orientation to the Future

  • Do you have a vision for the future you want to create?

  • How willing are you to move away from what feels familiar?

  • How willing are you to sacrifice for your goals?

When you come from choice, you have absolute freedom.

When you come from choice, you have a sense of clarity and confidence.

When you come from choice, you know who you are and what matters most to you.

When you come from choice, you see possibility.

When you come from choice, you are standing in your power.

When you come from choice, you are deeply attractive and deeply influential to everyone around you.

How are you coming from a place of choice in your life and career, or where do you need to reclaim that place of choice?

I’d love to know.

Love,

Audrey
